Wan'Dale Robinson took a hard hit in joint practice today and is currently under evaluation for a concussion — this one is new, and it's serious enough to warrant close attention heading into the final stretch of the preseason. The injury is confirmed as a concussion event; the severity and symptom profile are not yet publicly known.

Under the NFL's concussion protocol, Robinson's return is entirely symptom- and protocol-dependent — not calendar-dependent. There is no RTP estimate that can or should be issued here. The process requires independent neurologist clearance and progression through a defined series of steps: no-activity rest, aerobic exercise, sport-specific exercise, non-contact drills, full-contact practice, and finally return to competition. Players advance through those steps only when asymptomatic at each stage.

What matters now is the evaluation. With Week 1 of the regular season approaching in early September, Robinson's availability for the opener will depend entirely on how quickly he clears protocol — and that timeline is his brain's to set, not the team's. Any external pressure to compress that window should be treated with real skepticism. Robinson is a crucial piece of Tennessee's passing game and losing him for any stretch of the early season would be meaningful for the offense.
